As a Residence Manager, you will play a pivotal role in the operation of our Intermediate Care Facility (ICF). Your primary responsibility will be to ensure the overall well-being and quality of care provided to our residence. This includes overseeing the day-to-day operations of the residence, managing a team of dedicated professionals, and ensuring all care meets the highest standards set by the Office of People with Developmental Disabilities (OPWDD) and Opengate Inc. 

Responsibilities

  • Supervising and mentoring resident counselors, Direct Support Professionals, Cooks, and Shift Leaders assigned to the residence.
  • Provide ongoing training and supervision for staff assigned to the residence.
  • Conducting Monthly Coaching and meetings with Direct Support Professional staff with an emphasis on Core Competencies, and evaluating the performance of all direct reports.
  • Completing and maintaining appropriate records as required for the operation of the residential program.
  • Learning and implementing Residential Procedures, and attending and preparing for Life Plan Packets/Summary meetings and IDT Meetings.
  • Providing direct care coverage, as needed, and transporting consumers using the agency vehicle as directed.
  • Maintaining timely and appropriate communication with Individuals, staff, families, supervisors, and administrative staff.
  • Ensuring proper finance management of Individuals served.
  • Orienting Lead Counselors and ensuring that new employees complete the buddy system,
  • Following federal, state, and local governmental regulatory guidelines pertaining to a safe, healthy, and clean work environment, and reporting health and safety concerns to the supervisor.
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Services or related field or High School Diploma/GED
  • 2+ years in a supervisory role
  • 2+ years working with the ID/DD Population
  • AMAP/CPR Certification, preferred but not required
  • This position is a non-sedentary role; requires a lot of time standing and walking.
  • Able to lift 50 or more pounds. The ability to turn, lift and assist individuals with movement.
  • This position operates in a professional office environment.
  • This position routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopies, filing cabinets and fax machines. 
  • Some filing is required requiring the ability to move files, open filing cabinets and bend or stand as necessary.
